This home was built in the late 30s, which means it had some really cool looking wood windows. Technology has come so far since then, so style was all they had going for them. From an energy efficiency standpoint, they were a vacuum. The budget for this renovation didn’t allow for replacing the old windows with new wood windows, so vinyl windows became the go to. Vinyl windows have come along way in design and performance within the past decade. On the design side we were able to duplicate the grid layout and color of the original windows. From a performance standpoint, these windows feature efficient Low-E 366 glass and low maintenance frames. You’ll notice all the paint chipping on the original windows. Where the new windows come colored from the factory, the finish is baked in, eliminating the upkeep of a painted window and frame.
